Physical properties of isophorone

a colorless transparent liquid with a camphor odor. Relative density 0.9229 (20℃), melting point -8.1℃, boiling point 215.2℃, flash point 96℃, ignition point 462℃, viscosity 2.6mPa.s (20℃). Steam and air form explosive mixture, explosion limit 0.84%-3.8% .Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone and most organic solvents, for oils, natural and synthetic rubbers, vinyl resins, alkyd resins, tripolyamine resins, polystyrene, nitrocellulose, cellulose ethers, etc. Both have high dissolving power.

Isophorone applications

Can be used as a solvent for epoxy resin, phenolic resin, fluororesin, nitro spray paint, acrylic resin baking and curing paint, tank inner wall paint and high-acrylic six-six six insecticides, as well as a thinner for inks and plastics. It is also a raw material for the manufacture of dimethylphenol, trimethylcyclohexanol, trimethylcyclohexanone and special plasticizers.

Say Isophorone

'The molecular weight of isophorone is 138.21. Colorless liquid with a camphor-like smell. Relative density (20°C/20°C) 09215, freezing point -8.1°C, boiling point 215.2°C, flash point (opening) 96°C, ignition point 462°C, refractive index 1.4775, viscosity (20°C) 2.62mPas , The specific heat capacity is 1,78kJ/(kg·K). It is miscible with most organic solvents and slightly soluble in water. It dissolves 1.2% (wt) in water at 20 ℃, and forms an azeotropic mixture with 87.5% (wt) of water. The azeotropic point is 98 ℃. Non-corrosive to metals. Flammable, explosion limit 0.84%-38% (vol). Low toxicity, irritating to eyes and nose. It has a strong degreasing effect and should avoid contact with the skin. The maximum allowable concentration in the air is 0.0025%.

Is used as a solvent with a high boiling point. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse, away from fire and heat sources.
