Application field of n-butanol

Mainly used in the manufacture of n-butyl ester plasticizers of phthalic acid, aliphatic dibasic acid and phosphoric acid. They are widely used in various plastics and rubber products. They are also used in organic synthesis to produce butyraldehyde, butyric acid and butyl amine. And raw materials such as butyl lactate. It is also an extractant for oils, drugs (such as antibiotics, hormones and vitamins) and spices, additives for alkyd resin coatings, etc. It can also be used as a solvent for organic dyes and printing inks, and as a dewaxing agent.

Used in the production of butyl acetate, dibutyl phthalate and phosphoric acid plasticizers, also used in the production of melamine resins, acrylics, epoxy varnishes, etc.; used as chromatographic analysis reagents, and also used in organic synthesis, etc.; Formulated flavors such as banana, cream, whiskey and cheese.

  Safety measures

Leakage treatment: a small amount of leakage is absorbed by absorbing materials; a large amount of leakage shall be collected with explosion-proof pump after containment.

Hazardous characteristics: flammable, its vapor and air can form an explosive mixture, which can cause combustion and explosion when exposed to open flames and high heat energy. It reacts violently on contact with oxidants. In the fire scene, the heated container is at risk of explosion.

   Hazardous combustion products: carbon monoxide.

Extinguishing method: Use foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, water mist, 1211 extinguishing agent, sand to extinguish the fire.

Fire fighting precautions and measures: Firefighters must wear gas masks and full-body firefighting suits, and put out the fire in the upwind direction. Move the container from the fire scene to an open place as much as possible. Spray water to keep the fire container cool until the end of the fire extinguishing. If the container in the fire scene has changed color or produces sound from the safety relief device, it must be evacuated immediately.

   Precautions for use:

Operators should wear protective equipment. In the operating area, the maximum allowable concentration in the air is 100mL/m3.
